History

Wix was founded in 2006 by Israeli developers Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami, and Giora Kaplan.

Requirements

1. Web browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. 
2. Wix also supports mobile browsers on iOS and Android devices for viewing sites on-the-go.
3. You can use the Wix Database Connector to connect any type of database to your Wix website. This includes MySQL databases, Microsoft SQL Server databases, Oracle databases, and more. 
4. Web server: Wix uses Google Cloud Hosting and Amazon Web Services.

Wix is not self-hosted platform.

Cost

Wix has four paid plans, starting from $16 per month, plus a free plan that you can use for as long as you like. Wix prices range from $16 per month to $159 per month (billed annually).
